Spring is officially here, and if you’ve been following the latest GON reports, you know Lake Sinclair is the place to be this March. The bass are moving, the water is warming, and the Trixster crew headed out yesterday to see just how active they really are.
Quantity Over Quality
It was a busy day on the water! We boated roughly 30 fish throughout the day, including over 20 keepers. While the big "kicker" fish were playing hard to get—we ended with a bag of 4.14 lbs—the action was non-stop. If you are looking to get bit right now, the fish are definitely grouped up and hungry.
The Winning Setup
- The MVP: All but one fish came on the 5.25in Tamale in Green Pumpkin Green. This colorway is proving to be a powerhouse for Sinclair's current water clarity.
- The Trailer: We picked up one solid keeper on a chatterbait using a Site Shad as the trailer. It’s the perfect combo for creating that extra thump and vibration.
March Tactics
According to the reports, fish are transitioning into secondary points and shallow pockets. We found success slowing things down with the Tamale. Whether you're dragging it through brush or hopping it off rocky points, that Green Pumpkin Green flake provides just enough flash to trigger the strike.
